Task Reading, a high-beginning to low-intermediate reading skills text, has an ongoing story line — a day in the life of two adult students in San Francisco. Each unit in the Student's Book presents realistic situations, supported by a wide variety of reading materials, many of which are authentic: dialogs, maps, diagrams, articles, letters, and advertisements. Accompanying exercises help students understand the context and purpose of the many different kinds of readings. Predictable comprehension questions are avoided throughout, and the exercise types are widely varied. The book also includes Teacher's Notes, which give unit-by-unit teaching suggestions.
